Our first Kids Club Event, a tour of farm sanctuary
Chenoa Manor (www.ChenoaManor.org),
was a huge success! Families had a wonderful time meeting
the farm animals and the animals seemed to enjoy themselves
too! Many were very friendly and appreciated a good scratch
on the head.
After the farm, we went to Brandywine Battlefield Park
for a nice picnic, origami, face/body-painting, and even
a folk song or two! Thanks to everyone who attended this
event.
Stay tuned for an announcement about our next Kids Club
event! If you're interested in hearing details about
Kids Club events, please email lisa@publiceyephilly.org to
be added to our special Kids Club email list. We will
have monthly outings to exciting kid-friendly places
where kids can have fun and learn something new. |

Public
Eye: Artists for Animals' Kids Club visits farmed
animal sanctuary,
Chenoa Manor, to meet the resident animals
and participate in an enrichment project. Under
the direction of Chenoa's volunteer staff, kids
will make toys for the animals. Watching the animals
play with their new toys is lots of fun! Please
bring snacks and water for your family. Remember
to plan a restroom visit en route to the farm,
since facilities there are limited. Registration
is required. The Kids Club teaches compassion for
animals through the arts and animal-related field
trips. |

Marine
Mammal
Stranding Center
|
| We
had a lovely time visiting the Marine
Mammal Stranding Center in NJ on August 11th where
we met a blind seal, touched a giant whale jaw bone,
heard stories about traps hurting dolphins and saw
plastics and cigarette butts found in turtles' bellies.
The day continued with a picnic, swimming, and watercolor
painting art activity at a nearby Brigantine beach.
Upcoming events include: a veggie-cooking class, visit
to Popcorn Park (animal sanctuary), puppet-making workshop,
and more! Ideas are welcome. |

"Artists
for Animals'
Kids Club tours the PSPCA" |
We're
pleased to report another successful Kids event! Everyone
enjoyed our tour of the PSPCA. Rita-Anne Provenzano
led a fun-filled tour with special surprises like petting
kittens and puppies. Public Eye's co-founder, and resident
art-teacher, Zipora Schulz taught participants how
to create animal sculptures and to decorate picture
frames for our favorite companion animals. We will
post photos soon, along with photos from our previous
cooking class. Our next Kids Club event will be in
March. Details to follow in the next few weeks.
Stay tuned for our storytelling performance about "unhuggable" animals
in May. Details to be announced...
