The Human Circus: The Kindest Show On Earth
Sunday, May 21, 2006

2 to 4 p.m.

Conkey Center for the Performing Arts

501 West Springfield Avenue and Valley Green Road

ÒThe Human Circus is family-fun entertainment where humans do the tricks,Ó said Lisa Levinson, co-founder & director of Public Eye: Artists for Animals. ÒWe are presenting an alternative to circuses that use exotic animals like elephants, lions, tigers, bears, seals, and ponies because of the documented abuse and lack of quality of life for these animals. The Human Circus provides a glimpse into the history of the circus, how animals became involved, and why we hope circuses evolve into animal-free experiences, complete with an upbeat, surprise ending. ItÕs a perfect event for a Sunday afternoon with the kids.Ó

Performers include Carmen Martella III, master of ceremonies; OÕkeito Shortte, magician; Brian Eckenrode and Tristan Bosna, jugglers; ÒTapaholics PhenomenousÓ (More Than 12 Steps), dance company; ÒVersatile,Ó break-dance group; ÒSilent Majority,Ó mime Company; ÒA Touch of Classics,Ó singers; Moonsong, storyteller; Philip Jacobson, comedian/actor; the Human Circus band, and others.
