About Kids Club
|
Please
email lisa@publiceyephilly.org to
be added to our special Kids Club email list and
receive regular announcements about upcoming event
dates and locations. The schedule is also available
here, on our Kids Club page. Most outings will
take place on the first or second Saturday of each
month. We email directions and everyone meets at
the event location. Parents are responsible for
bringing vegetarian lunches, snacks and water.
Please bring reusable containers for lunch, if
possible. Public Eye arranges the tours and provides
art supplies. Most outings run from 10am-2pm, with
an hour for a group lunch. Children must be accompanied
by an adult (at least 1 adult per 4 children).
Whenever possible, events are free. Any fees will
be noted in an email before departure. There are
no membership fees to join the Kids Club. |
Members
of Public Eye’s Kids Club visit exciting places
where kids can have fun and learn something new.
The focus of each outing will be art and educational
activities that teach compassion for animals.
Ideas are welcome.

Please RSVP for each event by submitting your name, cell phone number and amount
of children/adults attending to lisa@publiceyephilly or
215-620-2130.
Cancellation policy:
Public Eye will cancel outings when fewer than three families RSVP. Cancellation
notices will be emailed at least 24 hours before the event. Those who sent an
RSVP for a cancelled event will receive an email and phone call. Others will
be notified through the group email list. If
you decide not to attend, please send an email or call to let us know (even if

Club Bird Walk
Join Public Eye: Artists for Animals
Kids Club on our Bird Walk to celebrate International
Migratory Bird Day.
|
Date:
Saturday, May 9th
Thanks so much to those who attended our recent Bird
Walk at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. We saw
more than birds walking the trails, including rabbits,
groundhogs, wild turkeys, deer, and a baby snapping
turtle! For the art activity, kids made some bead necklaces
and bracelets for Mother's Day, as well as some "Sculpey" bird-shaped
charms that they baked later. See our slideshow shown
here.

the refuge") |

A
bird expert leads the walk at John Heinz National
Wildlife Refuge from 1-2pm. Artist Zipora Schulz
leads a fun art activity from 2-3pm. There will
be other fun bird-related activities all day
long hosted by the Refuge staff.
Please bring snacks and juice for your kids. We
will meet in the visitor center lobby at the Refuge
between 12:45-1pm. We require an RSVP with number
of participants, ages, and contact information.

Seventh Annual Fab Rat & Animal Friends
Festival presented by the Rat Chick Rat Rescue
and
Advocacy Group
|
|
Come
meet a companion rat and watch happy rat videos
to see that rats are truly lovable! Our goal
is to dispel false beliefs and educate people
about these misunderstood creatures. There will
be live entertainment, food, and crafts for sale.
The theme for the Fab Rat Festival is “The Rat
Pack Is Back!” Public Eye: Artists for Animals
will perform songs from "The Unhuggables" with
singing rat puppets at 1pm. Please visit Public
Eye's table while you're there!
This
family-friendly event showcases domestic companion
rats including rat information and displays, funny
rat videos, a rat art show, rat adoptions, rat
raffle, a light hearted rat beauty pageant and
the A-Rat-Emmy Awards. There will also be booths
for other great animal welfare, rescue and adoption
groups with rescued cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea
pigs, hamsters, and birds.
